I love the 6 Keys!

Rosabeth Moss Kanter’s ideas have had a big impact on my thinking and the way I try to hold myself to account in my work.

She is an American sociologist and professor of business at Harvard Business School.

Having worked with and studied organisations across the world she has synthesised six characteristics of people working in organisations doing good work.

For example, in one of the keys she says that everything can feel like a failure in the middle, and this very much resonates with me!

It can be tempting to give up, but if we know we’re on a mission to make a difference, instead we step back, gather strength and go again.

Her 6 keys to positive change are a great way to help us to connect with others and I talk about them in Leading Hopefully on the Leadership Lobby with Andrew Morrish.

The Leadership Lobby is an 8 part course where Andrew and I have curated the most interesting and impactful research to support leadership development.

We have gathered recordings from educational leadership researchers and practitioners, together with our insights from experience and practical resources to support leadership development.

It’s available as part of Myatt & Co, access with an annual or group subscription.
